Visual Arts
I am so excited to be the art teacher at Uni Hill! I grew up in Colorado and live in Louisville with my husband and our two children. I love being creative, working with kids, and learning languages. I have been teaching in Longmont and Boulder for 16 years as a bilingual classroom teacher and an English language development teacher. Before working in schools, I got my Masters Degree in Art History and took many visual arts classes. I worked for several years at the Denver Art Museum in the Education Department. I believe that art education is an integral part of elementary education, and I am so grateful to be an art teacher in a dual language school. It is truly a dream come true for me. I look forward to working with everyone in the Uni Hill community this year!
¡Estoy tan emocionada de ser la maestra de arte en Uni Hill! Soy de Colorado y vivo en Louisville con mi esposo y mis dos hijos. Me encanta ser creativa, trabajar con niños y aprender idiomas. He estado enseñando en Longmont y Boulder durante 16 años como maestra bilingüe y maestra de desarrollo del idioma inglés. Antes de trabajar en escuelas, obtuve mi Maestría en Historia del Arte y también estudié artes visuales. Trabajé durante varios años en el Museo de Arte de Denver en el Departamento de Educación. Creo que la educación artística es una parte integral de la educación primaria y estoy muy agradecida de ser maestra de arte en una escuela bilingüe. BVSD Art Curriculum and Website
BVSD seeks to embrace the whole child and nurture each and every student's abilities to create meaningful works of art. Authenticity (meaning 'real-world' in this case) is a strength of our program as well. We strive to get student's work displayed to the public in multiple forums throughout the city and state each year. We take great pride in our expansive offering of Visual Arts classes throughout all levels of schools in this district, from the classical forms of art through to cutting edge 21st Century technological art classes.
